Flowood, MS (May 20, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a tractor-trailer collision involving a train that took place in Flowood on Friday afternoon, May 20.
According to Flowood Police, the accident happened on Old Flowood Drive around the area of US-80 and Highway 468. Police arrived at the scene to find that a tractor-trailer and a train collided with each other on the railroad tracks in the area. The train was unable to stop in time for the truck, causing the two vehicles to collide with each other. The tractor-trailer went off the side of the road and into a ditch, causing extensive damages.
Several responders, including Flowood paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Injuries were reported but it is believed that the parties are going to be okay.
The area was blocked for an extended period of time and train service was stopped until the scene was cleared.
