Vicksburg, MS (May 21, 2022) – Two victims were reportedly injured in a two-vehicle collision that took place in Vicksburg on Friday evening, May 20.
According to Vicksburg officials, the accident happened on Indiana Avenue around the area of KFC. Two vehicles were traveling in the area across from the local KFC when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The involved vehicles sustained severe damage and had to be towed from the scene.
Local responders, including fire crews and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Two people, who have not yet been identified, sustained injuries in the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
Due to the severity of the collision, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene so traffic could resume as normal.
No further details have been released. Vicksburg officials continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision at this time.
