Louin, MS (May 22, 2022) – A girl was killed in a fatal three-vehicle collision that took place on a major roadway in Louin on Friday evening, May 20.
According to Mississippi Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened on MS-15 around 4:45 p.m. Two vehicles collided with each other, identified as a GMC Sierra and a Kia Telluride. The vehicles then became involved with a Chevrolet Lake Tahoe. The vehicles all sustained severe damage in the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A total of three people were injured as a result of the accident. Police confirmed that the driver of the Tahoe, identified as 25-year-old Steve Coats, was rushed to the hospital. Two passengers in the Kia, identified as 46-year-old Tamiko Bridges and 18-year-old Abraham McKenzie II, were also injured.
Police confirmed that an 11-year-old passenger in the Telluride was tragically pronounced dead due to severe injuries. It is not believed that anyone else was injured in the collision.
A large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
Mississippi Highway Patrol continues their investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
