Oxford, MS (May 24, 2022) – Injuries stemmed from a car accident that took place on a roadway in Oxford on Tuesday afternoon, May 24.
According to Oxford Police officials, the accident happened at 2123 Jackson Avenue. Several vehicles were traveling in the westbound lanes of traffic in front of Pizza Hut when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not entirely known. The vehicles involved in the accident were immensely damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately called to the scene to offer assistance to those in need. One or more parties were injured as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in multiple lanes for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
