Car Accidents in Mississippi
In Mississippi, we see countless people involved in accidents due to the negligence of others. In fact, driver actions are the cause of more than 90% of collisions statewide each year. Some of the leading causes of crashes that we see include:
Impairment: When drivers operate their vehicles while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, they are less likely to maintain control. As a result, we continue to see drunken impaired drivers cause fatal crashes far too often in our state.
Distractions: Given the increase in the number of people using cell phones for talking and music, we have seen a dramatic increase in the number of people causing accidents due to being distracted by these and other objects. Driver to take their attention off the roadway are less likely to respond in time to avoid a crash.
Speeding: Driving above the posted speed limit is one of the leading causes of crashes in our state. Drivers who are speeding, especially during inclement weather, cause severe accidents every single day in our state.
Although this list is not all-inclusive, these and other acts of negligence continue to harm innocent parties every day in the state of Mississippi.
