Oxford, MS (May 27, 2022) – At 2:50 p.m. on the afternoon of Friday, May 27, a car accident with injuries took place in front of a store in Oxford.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the accident happened at 500 Merchants Drive in front of the local Marshall’s store. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not entirely known. The involved vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were hurt as a result of the collision. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area. Police worked to clear the scene so traffic could return to normal.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
