Oxford, MS (June 9, 2022) – An auto accident in Oxford caused injuries on the evening of June 9. At approximately 5:55 p.m., responders were sent to the scene to help those involved.
The incident was reported in the 2100 block of Jackson Avenue West near the Verizon Wireless store. An unknown number of cars collided in the area, resulting in injuries to an unspecified number of victims.
Paramedics rendered emergency aid to those with injuries at the scene. At least one person was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment as needed.
Those involved have not been identified at this time. Authorities in Oxford are still working to determine the cause of the wreck.
Traffic was delayed in the vicinity of the crash site for some time while police and other responders worked to secure the scene. Local motorists were urged to find alternative routes.
