Woodville, MS (July 24, 2022) – A traffic collision occurred on a roadway in Woodville on Sunday, July 17. At approximately 9:00 a.m, responders were sent to the scene to help those involved.
A man identified as Vonterius Thompson, age 27, was traveling north on US-61 on his ATV when he was struck by a 2009 Honda Accord traveling south. The Accord was driven by 60-year-old Vidalia, LA resident Deobrah Lee.
Thompson suffered injuries to his ankle, leg, back, and hips. He was transported to a Baton Rouge hospital where he required emergency surgery.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is currently investigating the collision.
