Meadville, MS (September 16, 2022) – Police with the Mississippi Highway Patrol are currently investigating a fatal semi-truck crash that happened on the morning of Tuesday, September 13 in Franklin County.
Information from local reports shows that the incident took place on US 84 sometime before 9:00 a.m. A photo from the crash site was shared on social media that showed an 18-wheeler lying on its side. Pieces of the truck’s undercarriage were hanging over a bridge located near the exit for the Five Star Food Mart in Meadville.
The westbound lanes of US 84 at MS 184 (Meadville exit) were closed due to the incident. At least one person reportedly lost their life in the accident, however, the circumstances of the collision have not been reported at this time.
