Wiggins, MS (October 5, 2022) – A vehicle crash happened in Wiggins on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 4. A passenger who was riding in a classic car lost their life just before 1:00 p.m.
Sources report the incident occurred north of Highway 26 near the Northwood Church between a Ford F-150 and a yellow 1957 Chevy Bel Air. The Bel Air had a Mississippi license plate.
The Chevy was headed south on 49 when it was involved in a crash with the Ford. The Ford was trying to cross 49 to access the service road, sources said. The Chevy t-boned the ford, according to reports.
The driver of the classic car was transported to Forrest General Hospital with injuries that were deemed non-life-threatening. A woman who was the passenger in the classic car lost her life at the crash scene.
The woman who lost her life was identified as Sherry Arrington, age 67, of Terry, Mississippi. Mr. Arrington, identified as the Chevy’s driver, was listed in stable condition.
The truck driver was transported to Forrest General with non-life-threatening injuries. A child passenger who was present in the truck was not injured.
Authorities in Wiggins continue to investigate the details of the accident.
