Meridian, MS (December 20, 2022) – At least one person was hurt in a car crash that happened in Meridian on the evening of December 20. Emergency crews were dispatched to the crash site shortly before 7:30 p.m. to render aid to the involved parties.
Reports indicate the accident took place on Interstate 20 near US 11. An unspecified number of cars crashed in the area and injured the involved individuals.
All eastbound lanes of the interstate were blocked while emergency responders worked in the area. At least one person was transported from the scene with injuries.
Currently, the reason the accident occurred is under investigation by police. Delays in traffic ensued near the wreck scene while crews worked in the area.
Police asked local drivers to use different travel routes while the scene was active with responders. Few other details are available to report at this time.
