Starkville, MS (February 6, 2023) – As previously reported, a traffic accident with injuries occurred in Starkville on February 4. New information released concerning the crash shows it involved a pedestrian who lost his life.
The pedestrian was identified as Lawrence Cook, 54, of Starkville. He was struck by a vehicle on Garrard Road between North Jackson Street and North Montgomery Street.
Multiple responders were dispatched to the scene at around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday. Cook succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle stopped and cooperated with the police. No further information has been reported at this time.
