Jackson, MS (February 6, 2023) – A car crash was reported to officials in Jackson on Monday morning, February 6. At approximately 8:27 a.m., police and paramedics were sent to the scene of the accident on I-55.
According to information from initial reports, the wreck occurred on I-55 past Fortification Street. The right shoulder of the roadway was blocked for some time while crews worked in the area.
One or more people involved were in need of emergency medical care at the crash scene. EMTs treated those with injuries and transported seriously injured parties to local hospitals.
Police asked drivers on I-55 near Fortification Street to use caution or different routes while the crash site was active with emergency crews. No other details have been provided at this time.
Investigators are working to determine the events that caused the crash.
