Mississippi Car Accidents
Car wrecks happen all the time in Mississippi and throughout the United States. Currently, more people lose their lives in car accidents than in gun violence every year in the US. Over 6 million car crashes are reported annually that injure about 3 million people. Sadly, over 35,000 people lose their lives per year in auto collisions in the United States. Car crashes are becoming more common due to drivers who choose to act negligently while behind the wheel. Many different forms of driver negligence exist, however, distraction, fatigue, intoxication, and speeding are the forms most often seen on the roadways in the United States.
Over 93% of all reported car crashes in the United States happen due to the actions of negligent drivers. In one recent year, over 11,000 people were killed in auto accidents caused by speeding. More than 400,000 car crashes happen per year due to driver distraction, and approximately 30% of all fatal auto accidents involve an intoxicated driver. Driver distraction is dangerous for everyone involved. Millions of people suffer injuries in negligently caused accidents every single year, while thousands lose their lives.
When a negligent driver causes an accident, those who sustain injuries are eligible to collect compensation through filing a personal injury claim. If you were hurt in a crash caused by negligence, the insurance company of the negligent person/party can provide you with compensation to pay for medical care, vehicle repairs, wage loss, and more, depending on the details of the crash and the aftermath that followed.
It is also important for negligent drivers who cause injuries and other damage to be held accountable for their careless, reckless, and selfish actions. The hard truth is that the majority of car crashes that happen in the United States are easily preventable. A skilled car accident attorney will not only help get you financial compensation that will help you recover, but they will also work to provide you with justice.
