Franklin County, MS (May 23, 2023) – A collision took place in Franklin County on Friday, May 19, that ended in a fatality. Reports show the incident took place on US 98 for reasons still under police investigation.
Sources say the crash happened between three vehicles that were headed west on US 98 when a 2016 Volkswagen crashed into a 1996 Buick. Following this accident, police say a 2015 Freightliner also crashed with the Buick.
The driver of the Buick, identified as 71-year-old Clifton Ramsey of Smithdale, lost his life at the scene.
Authorities in Franklin County continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
