Diamondhead, MS (July 28, 2023) – Two individuals lost their lives in a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Friday morning, July 28, in Diamondhead. According to information provided by police in Hancock County, the incident happened on Texas Flat Road when two vehicles were involved in a head-on crash.
Reports from authorities show the wreck occurred on Texas Flat Road near Mississippi Route 607. One person in each involved vehicle lost their life. The victims were identified as Shawn Kinney, 35, of Biloxi, and 47-year-old Toni Jarrell, of Picayune.
At this time, the Sheriff’s Department in Hancock County is working to investigate the cause of the accident. The intersection of Texas Flat Road and Mississippi Route 607 was closed while emergency responders worked in the area, forcing local drivers to use alternate routes.
