Jackson, MS (September 6, 2023) – Police in Jackson are currently investigating a fatal collision that happened on September 6. Responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after the incident occurred on Raymond Road.
According to reports, the collision occurred on Raymond Road near Terry Road when police were chasing a vehicle that was believed to have been involved in car burglaries. Police attempted to stop the Hyundai, however, the suspect took off, leading officers on a chase.
The Hyundai struck a Dodge truck at an intersection, taking two lives and sending two others to the hospital. At this time, those involved have not been identified.
The vehicle that did not stop was stolen and carrying a large amount of drugs, sources said. Authorities in Jackson continue to investigate.
