Warren County, MS (October 18, 2023) – Three people lost their lives and five others sustained injuries in a traffic collision in Warren County. Reports show the wreck happened at around 5:00 a.m. on Monday, October 16.
Police and paramedics responded to the scene shortly after the incident occurred on Interstate 20. A 20112 Ford E350XL van was headed west when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree.
Why the crash happened is still under police investigation at this time. The Mississippi Highway Patrol reports that three passengers lost their lives due to the crash. The driver suffered injuries deemed minor, sources said.
Four other passengers were taken to local hospitals with injuries of varying degrees. No one involved has been identified at this time.
All eight victims are from Cottondale, Alabama. Authorities continue to investigate the details of the accident.
