Hinds County, MS (December 11, 2023) – A 15-year-old lost their life, and four others sustained injuries after a single-vehicle collision on Interstate 20 West. Several responders were dispatched to the scene of the accident near the 18-Mile Marker on Friday night, December 8, at around 11:41 p.m. Lauren Young,33, was headed west on I-20 in a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe when her vehicle left the road and crashed into the median. Young, along with three minor passengers, all of Vicksburg, were taken to UMMC in Jackson with injuries of an unknown magnitude. The fourth passenger, a 15-year-old girl, lost her life at the scene.
Police in Hinds County continue to investigate the details of the accident.
