Jackson, MS (January 1, 2024) – A man lost his life when he was hit by a police vehicle in Jackson on Friday, December 29. Information provided by the Hinds County Sheriff shows that Travis Darrell Shoulders, 34, was traveling on foot on north Siwell Road near Will-O-Wood Boulevard when a deputy operating a county vehicle struck and killed him. The wreck occurred just after 6:00 p.m. Sources say the deputy was driving a black Chevrolet Tahoe at the time, and was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Police with the Mississippi Highway Patrol are currently investigating the circumstances of the crash.
