Itawamba County, MS (January 17, 2024) – A car wreck occurred on an interstate in Itawamba County on Tuesday evening, January 16. Reports from authorities show the incident occurred on Interstate 22 near Mississippi Route 23 near Tremont. Two or more cars collided in the area and injured the involved individuals. Those who suffered serious injuries received treatment from emergency medical crews who went to the scene at around 7:23 p.m. Tuesday. All eastbound lanes of the interstate were blocked while rescue personnel worked in the area. Local drivers had to use caution or find alternate routes.
