Olive Branch, MS (January 18, 2024) – The Mississippi Department of Transportation out of DeSoto County reported that a motor vehicle accident took place during the morning hours on Thursday that ended in injuries. The accident occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m. on January 18.
Law enforcement reports indicate that a motor vehicle accident occurred on US Highway 78. The incident prompted authorities to close down a portion of the highway in the area near Bethel Road and Hacks Cross Road. Due to a blockage of the westbound lanes on the highway, severe delays in traffic were reported. Injuries were reported due to this collision. Emergency medical services personnel out of DeSoto County were called to care for injured parties. Victims who required further medical attention were transported by ambulance to local hospitals. At this time, the crash is under investigation.
