Gulfport, MS (January 31, 2024) – Police in Gulfport responded to the scene of a traffic collision on Monday, January 29. It happened on the boardwalk adjacent to Highway 90 and Pratt Avenue when an individual identified as D’Ante Burks lost his life after being struck by a vehicle just before 1:00 p.m. Authorities report Burks was struck by a vehicle that left the highway when its driver was involved in a physical altercation inside the vehicle. Burks was taken to an area medical center where he later lost his life.
