Lauderdale County, MS (March 6, 2024) – An auto accident in Lauderdale County claimed one life on Wednesday night, March 6. At approximately 8:00 a.m., the crash was reported to the Mississippi Highway Patrol. Reports show an Acura operated by Jaimee Rowry, a Meridian resident, was headed south on Highway 19 when they were involved in a collision with a Chevrolet headed north. The Chevrolet was operated by 82-year-old Alvin Sowers. Rowry lost their life in the collision. A passenger present in Rowry’s vehicle, age 7, was sent to the hospital with injuries.
