Bayside Park, MS (November 21, 2021) – A group of Mississippi students and a bus driver escaped with minor injuries after an accident that occurred on Friday afternoon, November 19, causing a school bus to catch fire.
At approximately 4:00 p.m., authorities with the Bayside Volunteer Fire Department responded to the bus fire in Bayside Park, a community located in Hancock County on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Both the students and the driver were able to safely exit the bus before it was completely engulfed in flames, the fire department said. No serious injuries were reported, though EMS units were on the scene to provide treatment.
The investigation into the cause of the wreck is ongoing at this time.
