Belmont, MS (April 26, 2022) – On Tuesday morning, April 26, a woman was killed in a fatal workplace accident in Belmont.
According to Alcorn County officials, the accident happened at a mattress plant on Industrial Road, Comfort Revolution. A woman, identified as 46-year-old Olivia Hernandez, was working at the manufacturing location when she became involved in an accident due to reasons that are not yet known.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. Hernandez was seriously injured in the accident and was rushed to a Corinth hospital. She was tragically pronounced deceased a short time later. No other employees were hurt in the accident.
Due to the severity of the accident, the location was closed down temporarily as authorities worked at the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
