Blue Springs, MS (October 24, 2022) – A young boy lost his life in a crash that happened in Union County. The Union County Coroner stated that the wreck happened on the afternoon of Saturday, October 22.
Reports indicate the boy, age 14, was playing with two other kids when a man, whom the boy knew, was using a brush mower nearby. The 14-year-old jokingly jumped in front of the tractor and, sadly, the man did not see him in time.
Emergency services were called to the scene immediately. It was not reported whether the boy was transported to the hospital.
Authorities in Blue Springs continue to investigate the details of the accident.
We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.

Premises Liability in Mississippi
Premises liability generally comes into play in personal injury cases. A defective or unsafe condition on another person’s property that causes an injury or fatality is usually the basis for a premises liability case. Most personal injury and wrongful death claims involve negligence, and premises liability claims are no exception. An injured person must prove that a property owner was negligent in maintaining the overall safety of their property or another property aspect that resulted in injuries. A premises liability claim may be brought under any circumstance where a property owner failed to use reasonable care in connection with the property.
A necessary point in premises liability says that if you were injured on another person’s property, this does not exactly mean that the property owner displayed negligence. Further, if a property was in an unsafe condition, this does not necessarily mean that the property owner displayed negligence in maintaining it. You must be able to successfully prove that the property owner neglected to take the proper steps to fix a dangerous situation on their property.
Victims can bring premises liability cases for unsafe conditions that result in injury or fatalities, as well as defective construction or inadequate maintenance of the premises where the injury/accident/death occurred. Some examples of premises liability cases include the following:
- Defective equipment
- Toxic chemical exposure
- Poisoning
- Improperly maintained equipment, furniture, or furnishings.
- Open holes
- Dog bites/attacks
- And more.
