Byhalia, MS (February 8, 2022) – On Tuesday, February 8, a worker was killed in a workplace accident that happened near an intersection in Byhalia.
According to Marshall County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Taska Road and Mt. Pleasant Road. There was a power outage initially reported in the area of the intersection. A utility worker, identified as Henry Watson Sr., was working on the lines in the area when he was suddenly electrocuted due to reasons that are not fully known.
Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Watson Sr. was severely injured in the accident. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The area was blocked for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
