Columbus, MS (August 30, 2022) – A traffic accident between two passenger vehicles and two motorcycles took two lives during the early morning hours of Sunday, August 28. Reports indicate that the incident happened at around 1:00 a.m.
The two vehicles collided on US-82 which caused a chain reaction wreck that involved the motorcycles. One of the involved vehicles rear-ended a motorcycle, which pushed the bike into the rear of another motorcycle. That motorcycle then rear-ended another car.
David Anthony Porter, a 26-year-old Columbus resident, and Zabria Deana Dodds, age 24, both lost their lives. Dodds was later determined to have been pregnant at the time of the accident.
One of the involved motorcyclists was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Police in Columbus continue to investigate the details of the accident.
