Covington County, MS – James Jackson, Christine Gardner, Marian Winn Killed in Fatal Accident on MS-35

Covington County, MS (August 8, 2023) – Three individuals were fatally injured in a traffic accident in Covington County. The incident occurred on Monday morning, August 7. James Jackson, 66, of Prentiss, Christine Garnder, 65, of New Hebron, and Marian Winn, 61, of Mendenhall, all lost their lives in the crash. 

Reports show Jackson and his passenger, Gardner, were headed south on MS-35 in a 2020 Nissan Versa sedan when it was involved in a collision with a 2014 Buick Regal operated by Marian Winn, who was headed north on MS-35. 

All three individuals lost their lives due to the extent of their injuries. Jackson and Garnder were pronounced deceased on-site while Winn was transported to the Covington County Hospital and later pronounced dead. 

The collision remains under local law enforcement investigation at this time.
