Escatawpa, MS (June 9, 2023) – A man identified as 41-year-old Kennon Barton lost his life in a fatal traffic accident on an interstate near Escatawpa. The accident occurred on Wednesday, June 7.
The man was headed west on Interstate 10 between Escatawpa and Gautier when he was involved in a collision with an 18-wheeler. The circumstances of the incident are still under local law enforcement investigation at this time.
The semi-truck driver did not sustain any injuries in the accident, according to local reports. Barton was a beloved English teacher at Ocean Springs High School and will be missed by many.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash. No other details have been reported to the public at this time.
