Morton, MS (October 21, 2022) – Shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Thursday night, October 20, a car wreck happened in Morton that injured at least one person and caused extensive damage. Emergency crews were seen helping those involved shortly after the incident took place.
Sources say the accident occurred on Interstate 20 just past Mississippi Highway 13 in Morton, near the exit for the village of Puckett. What caused the accident to take place is still under local law enforcement investigation at this time.
An unspecified number of vehicles collided on the interstate and caused one or more occupants to become injured. The extent of the injuries suffered, however, remains unknown.
Police, EMTs, and fire crews were observed working at the wreck site for some time after the incident took place. Traffic was backed up in the vicinity of exit 77/Puckett while the scene was active.
