George County, MS (January 9, 2023) – A fatal three-car crash occurred on a highway in George County on Thursday, January 5. At approximately 2:30 p.m., the incident was reported to police in the area, who promptly responded to the scene.
The crash happened on US Highway 98 near the Alabama state line. One person involved lost their life, according to reports.
Sources say a 2019 Nissan Sentra driven by 25-year-old Louanntha M. Macarilla of Mobile, Alabama, was headed west on US 98 when it was involved in a crash with two eastbound vehicles.
One of those vehicles was identified as a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by Damian Cunningham, 47, of Mobile. The second was driven by Johnathon Brantley, 50, of Forest.
Macarilla sustained serious injuries in the accident and passed away the next day. The Mississippi Highway Patrol continues to investigate the details of the accident.
