Hancock County, MS (June 15, 2023) – An 18-wheeler used to transport multiple vehicles overturned on an interstate in Hancock County early Wednesday morning, June 14. Two brothers who were inside at the time lost their lives when the accident occurred.
The wreck happened on Interstate 10 at around 3:00 a.m., according to reports. Responders worked in the area for an extended period of time, causing significant delays in traffic. Information provided by police shows that Oleg Tarasevich and Yakov Tarasevich were identified as the men who lost their lives in the accident.
According to reports, the 18-wheeler left the roadway and overturned for reasons still under police investigation. Police closed the roadway for over ten hours while they worked to clean up the wreckage.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by authorities.
