Mississippi Car Accidents

Harrison County, MS - One Killed, One Hurt in Accident on I-10 near Cowan-Lorraine Road

In Mississippi, tens of thousands of car accidents happen each and every year. Sadly, hundreds of individuals lose their lives yearly in these crashes, and thousands end up with injuries. The most alarming fact related to the majority of these accidents is that they are preventable and often caused by negligent driving. Driver negligence is the main cause of car crashes in the United States, and in the past 10 years, distracted driving has risen to the top of the list of the most common forms of driver negligence.

Distracted driving can be demonstrated in numerous ways, however, the most common types of distractive driving include the usage of cell phones.

In the past decade, people have become extremely addicted and dependent on their smartphones, and they find it difficult to put them down even while behind the wheels of moving vehicles. Behavior like this is dangerous and destructive and can lead to serious injuries and even fatalities. It is extremely important for drivers to remain alert, aware, sober, and awake while behind the wheel. When they fail to do so, they risk their own lives and the lives of everyone around them.

If you or someone you love has been hurt in a crash caused by a negligent driver, you may be dealing with painful injuries, financial burdens, and emotional stress among other problems. Depending on the nature of your accident, and injuries, you may be unable to return to work, which can be extremely stressful when paired with outstanding medical bills and vehicle repairs.
