Hattiesburg, MS – Auto Crash with Injuries on US 49 past Old MS 42

Hattiesburg, MS (October 16, 2022) – A car crash in Forrest County blocked all southbound lanes of a roadway on the evening of October 16. At approximately 8:47 p.m, emergency crews were sent to the scene of the crash to render aid. 

Police investigated the details of the wreck that happened on US 49 near Old MS 42. One or more people were treated by paramedics at the crash site. 

The number of victims who required transportation to the hospital has not been reported at this time. Authorities in Hattiesburg are still working to determine the cause of the collision. 

The roadway was blocked for some time on the evening of October 16 while emergency crews were present. Police and other responders were seen working in the area for over an hour. Local drivers were asked to use different routes for the time being.
