Hattiesburg, MS (November 17, 2021) – At 12:04 p.m. on the afternoon of Wednesday, November 17, a car crash led to injuries in Hattiesburg.
According to local officials, the accident happened at the intersection of US-49 and Elks Lake Road. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, forcefully colliding with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person was seriously injured as a result of the accident. The injured victim was taken to the hospital, though their condition is not yet known.
Due to the severity of the accident, all northbound lanes of traffic were blocked at the intersection for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
