Hazlehurst, MS (July 27, 2022) – As previously reported, a serious car accident happened in Hazlehurst on the afternoon of July 25. Updates provided by local sources show that three of the injured victims have lost their lives due to the injuries they sustained in the wreck.
Police in Hazlehurst reported that a log truck operated by Robert Hunter, 75, of Brookhaven, was traveling east on MS-28 near Mercy Seat Road when, for reasons unknown, he collided with a 2018 Lexus ES350 driven by Akera Reese, 34, of Bogue Chitto.
Both drivers were fatally injured in the collision. A passenger present in the Lexus at the time of the crash was identified as Tiffany Coleman, 42, of Brookhaven. She also lost her life in the accident.
Nothing further has been reported concerning the nature or details of the incident. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this fatal accident in Hazlehurst.
