Hernando, MS (March 16, 2022) – On Wednesday afternoon, March 16, a multi-vehicle crash with injuries took place on a highway in Hernando.
According to Hernando officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-269 around the area of Laughter Road. Though few details have been released, it is believed that a driver lost control of their vehicle due to unknown reasons. The vehicle slammed into others, causing a chain-reaction collision on the highway. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the scene as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in several northbound lanes of traffic for some time as police worked to clear the scene.
