Hinds County, MS (October 14, 2023) – A serious car crash was reported to police and EMTs in Hinds County on October 12. Shortly after 10:00 p.m., the incident was called into dispatchers who promptly sent first responders to the scene.
Police say the wreck occurred on Interstate 20 just past Norrell Road near mile marker 33. Vehicles collided in the area under circumstances that remain unclear at this time.
Paramedics rendered emergency aid to those in need of medical attention at the crash scene. Victims who required additional treatment were transported to local hospitals by ambulance.
Currently, those involved in the crash have not been identified. All lanes of the interstate were blocked near exit 31 while rescue personnel worked in the area. Authorities urged local motorists to utilize alternative routes of travel while the wreck site was occupied.
