Mississippi Car Crashes
Every year, millions of car crashes are reported in the United States and throughout the state of Mississippi. Annually, our country sees more than 6 million vehicle collisions occur that injure over 3 million people and take the lives of about 40,000. In these accidents, about 2 million people suffer injuries serious enough to go to the hospital. The most alarming fact related to these wrecks is that they are mostly caused by negligence.
In the past decade, driver negligence has become an extreme problem throughout the nation. A Stanford Law School report estimates that anywhere between 90 and 99% of the car crashes reported in the United States are caused fully or in part by driver negligence/error. In today’s world, there are far too many distractions competing for a driver’s attention. From cell phones to radios to GPS systems, drivers have numerous places to avert their eyes.
Despite the type of negligence, the results of a car crash can be catastrophic. A negligent driver will not only change their own life by not paying attention to the road, but they will change the life of someone else, and not for the better.
If you or someone in your family has been hurt in a car accident, you have the option of filing a lawsuit against the person or people responsible. This is the most surefire way to receive compensation for your injuries and the damages you face in relation to your crash. Your life may be forever changed by your injuries, which can range from cuts and scrapes to permanent paralysis, disability, or even death. If your injuries are especially severe, you may be left with significant damages and mountains of debt that seem too extreme to even pay off.
