Jackson, MS (September 22, 2022) – Jackson police responded to the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash that took place in the pre-dawn hours of Friday, September 16th.
The incident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. when the driver of a 2000 GMC pick-up truck heading southbound on Highway 57 in Jackson lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and crashed into a utility pole.
One of the vehicle’s occupants, 68-year-old Freddie Chthey, a resident of Pascagoula, sustained fatal injuries during the impact and died at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
