Jackson, MS (November 6, 2021) – Around 3:25 a.m. on the morning of Friday, November 5, a hit-and-run pedestrian crash occurred at an intersection in Jackson.
According to Jackson Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Clinton Boulevard and Westhaven Boulevard. A male was walking in the area when he was suddenly struck by an SUV as he started to cross the intersection. The SUV driver did not remain at the scene following the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The male pedestrian was traumatically injured and pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was injured in the accident.
Due to the severity of the accident, the intersection was blocked for a period of time. Police did not say if they found the driver responsible for the accident.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
