Jackson, MS (November 26, 2022) – A serious traffic crash happened in Jackson on the afternoon of November 25. At approximately 2:00 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of the crash on Interstate 20.
Sources report that a jack-knifed tractor-trailer was seen in the middle of Interstate 20 near Clay Street and Indiana Avenue. What caused the accident to occur is still under police investigation at this time.
The interstate was closed while the area was cleared by emergency personnel. Diesel f uel was seen on the pavement in the area, believed to have leaked from the semi. The roadway was also littered with debris, according to reports.
The majority of the traffic overflow was sent to the frontage road. Additionally, two other vehicles crashed behind the 18-wheeler.
Paramedics rendered aid to the injured parties on-site. The names of those involved have not been reported at this time.
Details concerning the accident have not been reported. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
