Jackson, MS (October 30, 2022) – A major car crash happened in Jackson County on the morning of October 29. At around 11:35 p.m., crews were dispatched to the wreck site to render aid and investigate.
According to reports, the collision occurred on I-55 near Fortification Street in Hinds County. An unspecified number of cars crashed in the area and caused at least one person to become injured.
EMTs rendered aid at the wreck site a short time after the accident occurred. One or more people required transportation to the hospital, however, the number of individuals who sustained severe injuries has not been reported.
Two left lanes of the interstate were blocked while crews worked in the area. Police asked local drivers to use alternate traffic routes for the time being.
What caused the incident to occur has not been reported at this time. Police continue to investigate.
