Jackson, MS (May 13, 2022) – One person was injured in a car accident that took place on a local Jackson-area highway, within the limits of Hinds County, on Friday evening, May 13.
According to Jackson Police, the collision occurred on I-20 at Exit 42 and Ellis Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Two or more cars are thought to have crashed on the eastbound side of the highway for circumstances that are still being investigated. However, one of the vehicles involved was a sedan, which was severely damaged in the collision.
Several Jackson firefighters and EMS units were dispatched to the location to assist individuals in need. The crash injured one person, whose name has not yet been revealed, and that victim was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
Following the crash, police close a huge section of the roadway. They advised residents to drive slowly and expect delays for many hours while crews handled the situation. At this moment, police are still investigating the accident.
