Jones County, MS (April 15, 2023) – One person was transported to an area hospital following an automobile accident that took place on Friday in the Calhoun community.
The accident was reported at approximately 4:30 a.m. on April 14.
According to reports provided by the Mississippi Highway Patrol, a semi-truck was traveling on Mississippi 28 when it crashed into a horse just north of Crepe Myrtle Lane. A car then became involved in the accident. A pickup truck traveling through the area when off the roadway as a result of the crash and collided with a telephone pole.
One person involved in this accident was injured. The victim was transported to an area hospital for further medical care by Emserv Ambulance Service.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated by Mississippi Highway Patrol.
