Mississippi Car Crashes
Driver speeding and intoxication are two of the most common contributors to fatal collisions in Mississippi. In 2016, drunk driving was the cause of around one fourth of auto accidents reported in the state of Mississippi. Intoxicated driving is also behind over 30% of the national accident fatality rate. Overall, driver negligence is a problematic issue that needs to be addressed nationwide, taking tens of thousands of lives annually.
In 2020, approximately 75% of individuals who lost their lives in auto collisions involving drunk driving were drunk drivers themselves. Intoxication often comes with impaired vision, judgment, and reaction times – all of which need to be in optimal working order to successfully operate a motor vehicle. Intoxicated drivers often cause catastrophic accidents that can result in severe, debilitating injuries for victims or even death.
If you or a loved one were hurt in a crash caused by an intoxicated, or otherwise negligent driver, you are most likely going through a very difficult time. You may be eligible for financial compensation that can help you get the compensation you need to pay for lost wages, vehicle repairs, medical bills, and more. An auto accident attorney will be able to help you file a personal injury claim for compensation.
When you’re injured in a car accident, it is imperative to determine how it occurred, especially if you believe it was caused by driver negligence.
