Soso, MS (October 6, 2023) – A rollover crash with injuries was reported late on Saturday, September 30, in Soso, Jones County. Several emergency crews were sent to the scene at approximately 11:50 p.m. after receiving reports concerning a collision that happened near Northridge Road.
Two people were left injured, one critically, as a result of the accident that happened on Mississippi Route 29 near Northridge Road. One of the victims had to be airlifted from the scene due to the severity of their injuries, sources said.
The Jones County Fire Council reports that Pleasant Ridge, Soso, Calhoun, and Hebron volunteer fire departments responded to the scene shortly before midnight on Saturday. Upon arrival, they found two vehicle occupants had been ejected from a Nissan sedan.
Witness statements reveal that three people were inside the car at the time of the crash and that it was traveling at high rates of speed headed south on MS 29. The vehicle reportedly lost control and left the roadway before entering a ditch and flipping over, resting on its roof. The vehicle sustained major damage.
Multiple ambulances responded to the scene with Emserv Ambulance. At this time the victims have not been identified.
