Kiln, MS (February 16, 2022) – At 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, February 15, two people were killed in a fatal head-on collision in Kiln.
Harrison County officials confirmed that the accident happened on MS-603 in the area of Shiyou Road. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when one lost control and headed into the other lane of traffic, causing them to collide head-on with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene by tow trucks.
Paramedics, fire crews, and other Kiln responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Two people in the same vehicle were tragically pronounced dead at the scene. They have since been identified as 52-year-old Edison Watson and 48-year-old Dawn Moore. Two people in the other vehicle sustained injuries and were hospitalized.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for some time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
